We started off today mellow and light, which cannot be said for the weather with those dreary black clouds rolling in. We had some updates from the DCM last night in Sumas, Washington, a great time to reconnect with the other clubs in the area.
We have had a change in day for Kiwanis One Day which will be on October 22 (big change as it is usually in April). We also had a reminder about our 8th Annual Installation and Pig Roast on August 13, 2016. The challenge was put out to bring a friend to this event to showcase all we do and have some fun!
July 16, the trailer crew is looking for more volunteers to help at the Hot Rods and Classics Show, hope to see you there!
August 13, is also our soup kitchen morning! So we will need all hands on deck to help with Installation & Pig Roast set-up and soup kitchen.
Our guest speaker this morning was from the Mt Cheam Lions Club, a great little presentation on their Centennial Legacy Project - two new phacoemulsification systems for cataract surgery at the Chilliwack General Hospital. Their goal is $600,000 and they are about half way there. This project is to help keep wait times down while increasing accuracy and quality of life. They have an upcoming raffle, gala and golf tournament all in support to raise funds for this worthwhile cause. For more information you can find it by clicking here.
We finished off with Happy Bucks, stories and a slew of great toad jokes to celebrate the great toad migration in Ryder Lake.
We hope to see you out on Saturday for trailer support, till next time, for the Good of Kiwanis have a wonderful week!
