 | Welcome Back! Can you believe we are mid-May already!?! This morning we had Dean Mercer speak to us from the Salvation Army Youth Ministries, specifically he was there to give us an update on Camp Sunrise. Camp Sunrise gives under privileged children a chance to attend camp in Gibsons, BC. He had an awesome powerpoint that gave some of the specifics about why this camp is so critical in some childrens' lives. Their goal, to be able to make camp possible for the kids is to fundraise $12,000. Dean also let us know that Salvation Army is hosting a fundraising afternoon at the Lynnwood on June 10. Can we get 4 or 5 of us together to attend? At the end of it all, we were able to present Dean with a cheque, in which I think we are able to send 5 or 6 kids to camp this summer! |
