This morning we welcomed Jeff Martin from the Chilliwack Fire Department Honour Guard. We found out that the Chilliwack FD is the hub in the Valley for all fire departments. Once a month, this volunteer Honour Guard hosts practice at Heritage Park and they perform honour guard services for all emergency service departments. This reality comes from the fact that these firefighters, who are all volunteers are the only active honour guard. Jeff came with a request to get funding to help their fundraising efforts to purchase proper honour guard uniforms. We will of course take this request into consideration at the next board meeting.
